Welcome to Mutablefire Studios!

Mutablefire Studios, located on the lower floor of "the Building" in West Seattle, is an 800 sq ft, fully-equipped ceramics studio. Three pottery wheels (including a kick-wheel), slab-roller, three electric kilns, and lots of workspace and natural light. Current resident artists: Nathan McMonagle, Steve Knipp, Erin Middendorf, Amaranta Ibarra, & Eric Preece. For information about studio usage, please see below.

We are open to the public every second Thursday from 6-9pm, as part of the West Seattle Art Walk tour. A great chance to see work in progress, tour the studio, and peruse our new wares.

Located at the corner of Othello SW & 44th Ave SW, just one block west of California SW.

Mutablefire Pottery Studio Memberships

Mutablefire Pottery Studio in West Seattle is now accepting applications for a limited number of memberships to use our fully-equipped pottery studio. $25/month membership fee allows for flexible scheduling of studio workspace at discounted rates: Drop-in rate for members is $15/day, or reserve space in advance for as low as $10/day. Reduced kiln fees and discounts for pottery wheel lessons with our in-house expert are included in membership.

Our studio features a great shared work space with access to 3 electric kilns, throwing wheels, slab roller, tables and other equipment. Two kilns are 23 & 27in round, and one is a large oval kiln 30x42x35, which is great for large sculptural forms.

We are located in an artist building in West Seattle, off California Street -- and a short walk to beautiful Lincoln Park and coffee shops. Artists in our building participate in the monthly West Seattle Art Walk, which provides regular opportunities to sell you work.

We can also accommodate non-members who need a short-term studio to work, space to conduct a workshop, or need to fire your work. E-mail us for more information or to set up a tour of the studio.
